Seriously? I don’t think I would, but I know people who would in a heartbeat. If I were going to, though, the highest-up ones would be my choice… those ones on the bottom are too likely to have gotten licked by people’s dogs or children. (And if you don’t think people would let their children lick food items for others’ consumption, hang out near the peanut-butter machines at Whole Foods sometime. Eeeeew!!!)

I’m debating the wisdom of posting this in my office.

I loved Mathnet. (I actually also loved Dragnet, even though the jokes were sometimes over my head.)

But I do suspect, Frankly, that Kate & George would’ve had a tough time with innumerate criminals:

FoodParty« is the most awesome thing I’ve seen today. Low-budget crazyness a la Pee-wee’s Playhouse, with puppets, and food. According to EatmeDaily, it’s been picked up by the Independent Film Channel. The Episode 4 explanation of how dragons, onions and ninja are involved in making rice porridge for sickly baguettes is particularly awesome.

I found this Viral Video Chart. The T-Mobile one is awesome. I <3 choreography!

Poor NASA—spaceflight is hard, and bureaucracy makes it harder. But, in more fun news, there are two shuttles out right now! Endeavor is standing by to rescue Atlantis if it is damaged on its mission to repair Hubble. They were both briefly visible (with their service structures pulled back) this weekend.

So, this is a really cool idea, that somehow is lacking in execution. Why aren’t all the sans-serifs on one side and the serifs on the other? What does Swift have to do with Memphis? I do like that there’s a bunch of scripts in place of the Lanthanides, but the rest isn’t making sense to me…

This Hoefler & Frere-Jones blog post caught my attention because of the amusing inset:

They are referring to an 1853 English phrasebook by Pedro Carolino, for speakers of Portugese. Unfortunately, Mr Carolino did not speak English, and did not even have an English-Portugese dictionary. The original work wasn’t supposed to be funny, and I suspect neither was the article on a typographer in the Washington Post to which they linked, but they both certainly are. If you feel like wrapping your brain around the oddity of English idiom, take a look.

I’m pretty sure that anyone who reads my blog (all two of you, hi!) has seen this—I’d seen it too, but the high-def version is better) but it made me smile. Smile!
